Utterly immoral and insane! I’m sure the declared “one year moratorium to consider effects” was a bullshit cover to appease anyone protesting- they can act responsible and concerned in public to assuage the public while making whatever dirty deal lines their pockets behind closed doors… looks like lying & greed is a prerequisite for office.

Oh, the moratorium was absolutely a dog and pony show.

Can any one explain why it would be appropriate for the county commissioned to sign an nda while conducting the county business. That alone is reason to vote them out.

Well that’s one of the big questions, right?

I sent a letter to the city on July 2 about the data centers within the city limits. Not sure why there is no protests at City Hall ? This farm has been zoned for industrial use for over 40 years. I also believe there will be other data centers within the city limits. Many of the existing warehouses are also within the city limits. ( Amazon , etc ) The county government does not control zoning within most towns in Washington County.

Letter:

Will the city consider an ordnance on a moratorium for data centers? The county ordinance stops at the city line, and there are areas where they are allowed by right rather than by exception within the city limits. Please let me know.

Respectfully,

Typical Washington County can't see the forest for the trees thinking. Tear it down now and then it can't be resurrected. See any number of demolished farms, downtown buildings with historical significance and beauty. Build a warehouse or a data center or a concrete parking lot. Lying SIBs ought to get voted out, but the ignorant voters who support you-know-who will never vote them out because they don't care about history and scenery, and beauty. Makes me sad to say that's where I grew up.
