No government leader or employee should sign a Non Disclosure Agreement for government business. The people have right to know what their government is doing.

Having said that, there is a need for national security issues, like the nuclear codes.

But, a land deal is public business. Those Commissioners need to go. Land deal rescinded.

Is it legal for govt officials to sign NDAs?

Great sleuthing! Keep up the good work to let residents know what mischief their elected officials are up to. Officials should be accountable to residents, NOT vested interests.

NDA = DJT Mafia tactics

I have been following the commissioners’ shenanigans and you guys protesting in the Maryland subreddit. You guys have some interesting stuff going on up there in Washington County! Keep up the good work

Tie this up in court! Fight back! Turn off the power and water! Do anything and everything to subvert this effort to run around the will of the people.

Only an idiot or someone who was paid off would do this.

Sue them. Throw them out. Public officials can’t legally sign non-disclosure docs. That violates public transparency. Now stop that building by cutting off its services. Then follow the money or other sorts of bribes.

Talk about irony: "Washington County is a Republican lead [sic] county....which often leaves the voices of our shared constituents unheard..." In light of your above article about NDA's, leaving the voices of constituents unheard is *exactly* what the Board did in signing those NDA's. Such hypocrisy. I wonder if Project Salt Box can address, or investigate, whether any of the other proposed ICE detention center sites involved secret meetings and NDA's. I suspect it is a pattern with ICE.

Thank you for exposing this. Have you sought a copy of the NDA yet? It should be available under the Maryland Public Information Act, even if some parts have to be redacted.

Any state not immediately passing a law forbidding ndas on public funds contracts should lose their statehood

What would be wild is if the NDA is actually for a data center and you all accidentally stumbled onto that lol
