I am glad to see Fort Richie renovated and reused. However it seems to me that Jeff Cline should have recused himself from a vote on this grant as it appears he has a conflict of interest with JGBLI. Is there a mechanism in the grant that prevents a business from applying directly for the grant? Last year I encouraged the support of a Long Covid research grant within Maryland. The research entity had its own money to fund the research, but there had to be a state or local entity to oversee and serve as a pass through for the grant monies. It was not, to my knowledge, granted.
